Gati opens office in Hong Kong

Hyderabad, 25 December, 2005: Eyeing the opportunities on the China-India route, Gati, the Hyderabad-based logistics company, opened an office in Hong Kong early this month.

We are the first Indian logistics company to set foot in Hong Kong. We would like to tap the geographical advantage of Hong Kong as a gateway to southern China and transhipment hub between China and India," a Gati press release said.

Gati plans to focus on developing express distribution and integrated logistics business opportunities with companies planning to enter or already operating in the Indian market.

"We have two offices in China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Bhutan and Sri Lanka, strengthening its network across the Asia-Pacific," said Manoj Agarwal, Chief Marketing Officer. Commenting on the India-centric strategy the company adopted, he said it made sense for the company on many counts. India is the world's fastest growing market after China. Imports into India are growing at a rate of approximately 16 per cent annually.

Our reach and multi-modal services offer the ideal solutions for companies importing to and doing business in India," he said
